The Loose Screw is 200 riders getting together in Kamloops, BC for some of the best dualsport riding in the world.

Off-pavement riding for quiet, licensed motorcycles.

Self-guided routes following roll chart and/or GPS.

We offer routes for all levels of rider from beginner to advanced – something for everyone.

Bring your tent or your motorhome – camping on the river is included.

Registration Information

Pre-registration is mandatory!

March is the recommended time for pre-registration.

The Loose Screw is held in mid-August each year (since 2006).

Check the ride details for your route for distance and difficulty information.

‘A’ route is a difficult route for the experts. Roll Chart only. 500cc or less.

‘B’ route is a roll chart and GPS route for advanced riders. 500cc or less.

‘C+’ route is a roll chart and GPS route for advanced riders. 650cc friendly.

‘C’ route is a roll chart and GPS route for all skill levels. 650cc friendly.

Gas and lunch will be available along the route.

Some Important Notes

You will need a spark arrestor on your muffler. Check now, you still have time to get one.

You will need a roll chart holder – get one now, you still have time.

Fresh knobbies recommended for A and B routes.

It will be hot, bring lots of water – We recommend a Sports Drink in a Hydration Pack.

Bikes must be licensed and 96dB maximum

You may have to go 180km before you see a gas station
– check the ride details for your route.

There will be a prize draw for some awesome prizes, bring a few extra $$ and buy a ticket.

There are few services on the site. There are toilets and a river. Bring what you need.

Typical Calender of Pre-Event Tasks

March: You register and send in your information. Register early – the number of riders is limited.

Early August: Roll charts and routes will be emailed to all registered participants.

Typical Schedule for Event

Friday, Arrival Day

Arrive at site any time you want

Many of the locals will be on site to share a story and a beverage

Saturday Ride Day

6:00am – Coffee, fruit and muffins provided

7:00am – Rider’s Meeting for all riders

7:30am – Off we go – ride all day

Around 12pm – Lunch provided along routes

After Lunch – Off riding again

Late Saturday Afternoon

5:00pm – Arrive Back, maybe have a swim or some snacks

6:00pm – Steak Dinner

7:40pm – Main Prize Draw

Sunday, Final Day
