Kahuna 2025 Announcement

After much deliberation and with mixed emotions, the Kahuna Team must announce that this year’s event will be a “Mini Kahuna,” exclusively for the PNWMA’s C and D classes.

Kahuna has grown significantly in recent years, thanks to its incredible location and the dedication of our organizing team. Countless hours were spent planning this year’s event and exploring venue options. However, after careful evaluation, we determined that the new venue lacks the necessary infrastructure to safely manage the riders and ensure a successful event. With safety as our top priority, we have made the difficult decision to scale back the event.

That said, we remain as enthusiastic as ever about providing an unforgettable experience for the C & D racers and our young riders! They deserve a course that challenges and excites them, and we are committed to delivering just that.

Responsible Riding Matters

Part of this decision was influenced by ongoing issues at the Lafarge ORV park, where a significant number of riders have been venturing outside designated riding areas. Numerous complaints have been received from a neighboring ranch after riders entered a fenced grazing lease and created an unauthorized turn track.

We must stress that reckless riding in unauthorized areas threatens the future of our sport. A strong sense of entitlement—riding wherever a bike can go—will only lead to more closures. Responsible riding means knowing and respecting land-use rules, just as hunters educate themselves on regulations before heading into the wilderness.

If we want to preserve riding areas for future generations, we must do better. Let’s be proactive, educate ourselves, and ride responsibly.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to an incredible Mini Kahuna 2025 and appreciate everyone’s commitment to keeping our riding community strong and sustainable.
